Susanne JeffusSusanne Jeffus is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She obtained her medical degree from UAMS. She completed her residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at UVA in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she also served as chief resident. She remained at UVA for two fellowships; blood banking & transfusion medicine and cytopathology. She joined UAMS as faculty in 2013.

Dr. Jeffus clinical responsibilities include Surgical Pathology (Thoracic & Gynecologic Pathology) and Cytopathology. She is the section chief of the Thoracic Pathology Service. She particularly enjoys teaching residents and has received several residency teaching awards. Her research interests include endobronchial ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration cytology of thoracic lesions as well as vulvar neoplasia. She has coauthored several peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters and presented her work at national and international meetings.

Dr. Jeffus is actively involved in the Residency Program at UAMS, where she currently serves as Director. She is passionate about leading a dynamic residency program.​
